Welcome to Leadus Ltd Transport Training delivering Driver CPC Periodic Training
Leadus Ltd Transport Training specialise in Driver CPC Periodic Training in the south of England.
Under a new European Union Directive, professional bus, coach and lorry drivers now need to hold a Driver CPC in addition to thier vocational driving licence. Driver CPC is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of vocational PCV and LGV drivers throughout their working life.
Training can take place at your own premises, providing you have a suitable room, or we can provide a venue for you. Depending on the modules that you choose and the training space available, we can take up to 20 drivers per Driver CPC training session (16 on the First Aid sessions).
To qualify, instructional sessions must be of 7 hours not including breaks or signing in time. All of our training courses are JAUPT approved.
Deadlines for drivers with acquired rights.
If you are one of the many drivers that received their Driver CPC through acquired rights, you will probably have an expiry date on your Driver Qualification Card of the 9th of September 2019 (2018 for Bus and Coach drivers). This means that you must complete 35 hours (5 x courses) of training before this date, otherwise your card will expire and you will no longer be able to drive professionally.
You can be fined up to £1,000 if
you drive professionally without Driver CPC.
Don't leave it until 2019 to book your 35 hours of training, remember, 35 hours is a weeks worth of training. In anticipation of Brexit it's very likely that many Drivers will probably leave booking courses to the last minute, meaning that many courses will most likely be booked to capacity in 2019.
It is strongly advised to book courses early so as to avoid any possibility of your Driver CPC expiring. Spreading courses over the next few years will also soften the impact to your, and your employers working week.
Driver CPC and Brexit.
It's very unlikely that Driver CPC will be dropped once the UK leaves the EU. In the very unlikely event that it is abolished in the UK, you will still need it for driving within the EU.
